All season long Draymond Green was consistent for the Golden State Warriors. He was the starting power forward for 79 of the 82 regular season games. Green is the heart beat of this squad and Steve Kerr counts on him to set the tone on a nightly basis. Every time he laces them up, you know he is going to deliver.
However, you will notice Green made one change for these NBA Finals. Game 1 rolled around and the Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier 8s were no longer seen on his feet. Was it because his opponent was the signature star behind the shoes?
Green was asked about the sneaker switch the day before they take the floor in Game 2 of the Finals. According to SLAM Magazine, Green says it has nothing to do with mind games:

Green is the ultimate competitor. He is the type of player you want to go to battle with because you know he will do whatever it takes to win. Green wants to beat LeBron James and knows he will be guarding him throughout the course of this series, so a change of shoes only seemed right.
Green won’t admit it, but he is no longer wearing LeBron’s because they’re competing against each other on basketball’s biggest stage. While they were making their way through the Western Conference, Green was asked on Twitter if he was making a shoe switch if he faced LeBron in the Finals: (via: Kicksologists)

A basketball player’s footwear is extremely important. You have to play with the best shoes that are suited for your foot and style of play. For Green, the LeBron’s were very comfortable, which is why he wore them for 79 regular season games and 15 playoff contests.
Green is still rocking some sick kicks for the Finals. Nike sent him 2014 Hyperdunk “Finals” colorway that includes mostly white and gold. If you want to see Green in LeBron’s, you will have to wait until next season
