Warriors Believe An NBA Championship Is In Their Near Future

With the 2013-14 season in the books, 31 NBA teams are already looking forward to the next NBA season. While most NBA teams are looking to improve their roster in the off-season in hopes of making their team a contender, the Golden State Warriors are already one of the better teams in the NBA. The Warriors could be a major player this off-season, which could only improve their chances at winning an NBA title.

Contending for NBA title is a difficult task, but the Warriors have a core of players that are ready to take this team deep into the playoffs. According to Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group, Joe Lacob, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson believe they could be hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy in the near future:

Warriors co-owner Joe Lacob happened to be on KGO’s postgame show after the San Antonio Spurs won the NBA championship. Next year, he hoped to be the one raising the trophy rather than serving as a television analyst.

“That would be preferable,” Lacob said.

The Warriors’ players feel similarly and think it can happen. Guard Klay Thompson says to expect a championship next season, and two of his teammates signed through the 2016-17 season see the possibility of a title in the future.

“We have a pretty legit window to be a championship-caliber team and make those strides,” guard Stephen Curry told the Charlotte Observer.

Playing with confidence is a big part of the game and the Warriors should expect an NBA title sooner rather than later. The Warriors have a group of talented young players that are under contract for a few years, so they have a nice window of opportunity to chase an NBA title. Curry has emerged as one of the better players in the NBA and Klay Thompson is a great number two option for them. The Warriors are also rumored to make some improvements this summer, which could make them much more dangerous.

The Warriors haven’t won an NBA title since 1975 and it’s about time they brought another title to the Bay Area. This off-season will be one to watch, hopefully the Warriors are able to add some valuable pieces that will fit in well with this group of guys.
