Warriors Rumors: Team Aggressive With Trade Deadline Approaching
Before the start of the season, the Golden State Warriors were considered a championship contender. With the team currently the sixth seed in the Western Conference, it appears that the front office is looking to make changes to reach their goals this season.
According to USA Today’s Sam Amick, the Warriors have been one of the most aggressive teams with the trade deadline approaching. Rival executives believe that Stephen Curry and Andrew Bogut are the only two players who are untouchable at this point:
“They have one of the most aggressive front offices in the league, and rival executives are of the belief that anyone not named Stephen Curry or Andrew Bogut is up for discussion.”
After acquiring Andre Iguodala this off-season, the Warriors haven’t lived up to expectations the first half of the season. The defense has been inconsistent and Harrison Barnes has had difficulties adjusting to his role as the team’s sixth man. If the Warriors want to make a deep postseason run, they’ll need to secure homecourt advantage in the second half of the season.
With the front office looking to win now, this will shape up to be an interesting trade deadline for Golden State. With the lottery bound teams looking to improve their chances of securing the number one pick in this year’s highly anticipated NBA Draft, there will be opportunities for the Warriors to improve.
