Despite his recent struggles, Warriors forward Harrison Barnes was selected for the Rising Stars Challenge during All-Star weekend today. Last season, Barnes had 12 points for Team Shaq in a 163-135 losing effort against Team Chuck.

According to San Francisco Chronicle’s Rusty Simmons, Barnes will make his second straight appearance at the Rising Stars Challenge in New Orleans:

After shootaround on Tuesday, Barnes assessed his first-half performance as ‘not that high’ and wants to improve his consistency in the second half of the season. In the past 10 games, the forward is only averaging 4.8 points and 3.3 rebounds on 30 percent shooting.

With All-Star weekend approaching, it should give Barnes enough time to reset and get ready for the second half. If the Warriors want to go deep in the postseason, Barnes will have to establish himself as the team’s sixth man and energize the team’s struggling bench.

harrison must be living in another dimension if he considers his first half performance as “not that high.” how did he make a rising stars team? they had to have been hard pressed to come up with players, because his stars is not rising, at this point! his presence on the W’s is not benefitting the team, right now, imo.
